EPISODE 903: Get Your Goals. The Three Steps

We all know that getting our goals is a life-long process…I hope! When we’ve achieved a goal, another one is usually there to be worked on. It’s part of the human condition to want to be constantly progressing forward.

I’m going to share with you the three overarching steps that all goals need to succeed this week.

We’re going to break the three essential components to you getting your goals down one by one.

The first is intention. The dictionary describes Intention as a determination to act in a certain way. A resolve. Resolve means we are firmly moving forward. It’s not a wish. It’s a determination. It is something we mean to do. Intention moves us forward on firm legs. If an intention is wobbly or weak, the chances are good we won’t see it through. Make sure your desire for that intention is strong.

Written goals are the second step. Don’t leave this out! A goal that’s written is 40% more likely to succeed than one we just talk about. 40%. How many of you have had the experience of writing a goal down, forgetting about it and rediscovered the paper with the goals that are now achievements you’d forgotten about? Or had you? My guess is that you were taking action around it without a lot of additional thought. The act of taking pen to paper, and not on a computer or just said out loud, sits right next door to magic. The goal is launched out into the universe with your mental energy and it begins working coupled with your intention. There’s one more step to bring it home.

Action This is where way too many people fall down. They want something. They may intend it. They may write it down. They don’t act. That only doesn’t work in 100% of cases. Goals require that determination of intention and action taken that points back to the intention. I endorse the concept of Massive Action. I’m going to talk to you about that next week and you don’t want to miss that.
