EPISODE 604: You + Me = The Best Job

Sharing with you my career search success components that you can use to find your best job.

A great career coach has the combination of experience in the hiring field, up to the minute knowledge of social media and how it impacts a job search and an arsenal of tools to move you forward.

Here are five key skills I bring to the table for your career search.

  • Thirty-four years of extensive staffing experience, placing thousands of people at hundreds of companies. That’s a lot of placement knowledge and a lot of years! I can help you, too.

  • Process that includes a customized coaching call, resume review, assessment of your situation, your job must haves and desires, a list of targeted companies, a weekly activity schedule for you to work by and any job search pointers that you need on search engines, networking, or key words. If you’d like a complimentary copy of those components, email me at brenda@brendaholley.com and I’ll send you my flyer on them.

  • LinkedIn Strategies overview to make sure your LinkedIn profile is exactly what it needs to be. This is crucial to job search success. Did you know that employers turn to LinkedIn to check out any prospective employee first? The need to have the power of LinkedIn deployed correctly to benefit you can’t be overstated.

  • A robust selection of career assessment tools. Two I’ll mention are the Career Discovery Pondering Questions Sheet that consists of 21 work related questions to stimulate your thinking and help you look for the patterns that have run throughout your life around work and a 5 Step Workbook to Identify Your Career Values.

I’d like to share with you what one of my career clients said about the Career Discovery Pondering Questions exercise. “I was offered a Sr. Director and I accepted! The role is expansive and it also comes with a $15,000 pay increase from my previous role. The culture is a great fit as well. If I hadn't gone through job clarity exercises with you I don't think I would have had the confidence to even apply for this role.” Bam! Exacting what she was looking for.

  • Partnership in your job search. This isn’t tangible and it is probably the most important feature you want. A person who will tell you the truth, share knowledge, and be with you every step of the way. A new career deserves the utmost attention.
